The final few days of the Tokyo Olympic Games includes some of the most anticipated track cycling battles on the Izu Olympic Games Velodrome. If you are lucky enough to have tickets to the evening sessions on the final 2 days then we have an amazing tour for you to ride during the day. We will provide transport to the velodrome each night and then pick you up again, so you can really kick back, relax and enjoy watching the fastest men & women on 2 wheels battle for glory.

But you don’t need tickets to the Olympics to enjoy this tour!  The tour is based on the stunning coastline of the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka.  It takes you on a magical journey, over high mountain passes, roads and towns lost to time and up one of the most iconic mountains in the world, Mt Fuji..

Average distance is about 100km per day with approximately 1,200m of climbing. Our Intermediate/Advanced tours aim to strike a balance between time on and off the bike, but it is still designed to challenge and a reasonable level of bike handling ability is required. Contact us for more information on joining this  tour.

More about Izu Peninsula Discover Izu Peninsula

The Izu Peninsula (伊豆半島, Izu Hantō) is a resort area popular for its hot springs, beautiful coastlines, beaches, mild climate and scenic mountainous interior. Located about 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, its proximity to the city makes the peninsula a popular weekend getaway and the area is well connected to Tokyo by train. In addition, Mount Fuji lies only about 50 kilometers to the north and can be viewed from the peninsula’s western coast.

More about Mt.Fuji Discover Mt.Fuji

Mount Fuji (富士山, Fujisan) is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It is not surprising that the nearly perfectly shaped volcano has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and experienced big popularity among artists and common people throughout the centuries. Mount Fuji is an active volcano, which most recently erupted in 1707. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days. Another easy way to view Mount Fuji is from the train on a trip between Tokyo and Osaka. If you take the shinkansen from Tokyo in direction of Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, the best view of the mountain can be enjoyed from around Shin-Fuji Station on the right hand side of the train, about 40-45 minutes into the journey. Note however, that clouds and poor visibility often block the view of Mount Fuji, and you have to consider yourself lucky if you get a clear view of the mountain. Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons of the year than in summer, and in the early morning and late evening hours than during the middle of the day. If you want to enjoy Mount Fuji at a more leisurely pace and from a nice natural surrounding, you should head to the Fuji Five Lake (Fujigoko) region at the northern foot of the mountain, or to Hakone, a nearby hot spring resort. Mount Fuji is officially open for climbing during July and August via several routes.
